The Ultimate September Toronto To-Do List

September is a busy month in Toronto, the weather is cooling down but fewer people are leaving on weekends for vacations and cottage trips and most importantly school is back in session. Thousands of new and returning students are flooding back to the different schools across Toronto and the GTA making it prime time for events to reach the largest amount of people possible.

Here is our list of can’t miss activities happening in Toronto and the GTA this September and our recommendation for the best vehicle to rent for the event!

TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) September 7-17

TIFF is one of the largest Film Festivals on the planet, movies from all over the world make their premieres right in our own backyard. Tickets can range in price, between $28 – $59 but are always worth the price of admission, not only do you get to see a great movie before anyone else but they are usually followed by a Q and A with the filmmakers!

If you don’t want to pay the price of admission but still want to see all the celebs, the red carpets are free to attend but it is strongly recommended you arrive early, sometimes a few hours early depending on the star power attending, if you want to try and get an autograph or picture.

The Perfect Tiff Rental Rental

For an event like TIFF, if you are coming from out of the city we recommend a small car like the Kia Rio. The Rio is the perfect rental for Toronto because it drives and parks like a small car but has a hatchback which allows for more space. The Rio seats 5 with plenty of cargo space so there will be no shortage of room when you and your friends head out on your TIFF Adventure!

Niagra Falls Events

Is there anything more exciting than a good old-fashioned “Who Dunnit”? Arguably the grandfather of the hugely popular escape rooms of today, Murder Mysteries are classic party staples from the 70s and 80s. Now is the time for you to step up and solve the murder that has taken place at Old Fort Erie! Find clues and interview suspects as you help police solve the case! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

While you’re in the Niagara area why not visit the falls? The changing leaves and beautiful autumn colours make for amazing sights. So grab a warm drink, pack a jacket and head down to the Falls to experience one of the greatest sites Ontario has to offer.

The Perfect Niagara Falls Rental

If you’re renting a car in Toronto and heading to the Niagara Falls area, the best vehicle by far would be the Chrysler 200C. This beautiful sedan is not only inexpensive to rent but also great on gas so you won’t be breaking the bank while you keep the tank topped up. Maybe the greatest benefit of renting a 200C would be the navigation and Bluetooth systems, you will always have directions at your fingertips while you keep your eyes on the road.

Hamilton Supercrawl September 8-10

The James Street Supercrawl in Hamilton is a massive event associated with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats that not many people outside of the city may have heard of. The Supercrawl features all things Food, Music, Art and Fashion and it is only 45 minutes down the highway. The food alone is worth the trip from the Greater Toronto Area, with dishes ranging from pizza cooked to order in a wood-fired oven to the very Instagramable Eva’s Original Chimney.

Theatre performances and circus acts are all on the roster but the real draw of the festival would be the concerts! Huge names from all over Canada and around the world are featured in this year’s lineup including The Sheepdogs, a Saskatchewan band that happens to be the only independent artist to be on the cover of the Rolling Stone ever, PUP a Juno-nominated punk band from right here in Ontario along with many, many more.

The Perfect Supercrawl Rental

This is a big event that will only be made better by bringing along your friends and family, so you are going to want a vehicle that can accommodate everyone while keeping them comfortable. Our Minivans like the Dodge Grand Caravan are perfect for families and large groups. Driving from Toronto to Hamilton can sometimes be a headache so why not make yourself comfortable for the ride down?

At Advantage Car and Truck Rentals customer service is our number one priority which is why all of our vehicles are brand new with low kilometres and are exceptionally clean. When you head off on your September adventure rent from us and see the Advantage.
