Top Five Ski Resorts Just Outside Toronto
The Mansfield Ski Club is located just an hour and a half from our Queen and Parliament Location. While it is a private club it is open to the public during the week. The wait times are short with seven lifts and 15 slopes. Mansfield is very family oriented so this would be a perfect spot to visit with the kids over winter break. A day pass which gets you from 9am to 9:30pm is only $63.
Glen Eden is incredibly close to Toronto, less than an our away from the downtown core in Milton. Passes range from $20 to $37 for the whole day. It is a simple hill, not very steep, and great for beginners. There is a Snow tubing field for the kids and a terrain park for those looking for a bit more excitement.
Lakeridge Resort, a massive resort not far out of Ajax, spans 70 acres with 23 separate runs. There is something for everyone with black diamond trails for the experienced skier and novice hills for those just starting out. Lakeridge offers mogul runs and three snowboard terrain parks. Hours fluctuate through the season but night runs are usually available until 9:30pm.
Hockley Valley Resort is only an hour north of Toronto near Orangeville. Day passes run as low as $47 on weekends. There are plenty of accommodations to keep you comfortable throughout the day. Most of the trails are open at night and there is even a Half Pipe for the adventurous.
Blue Mountain is the largest ski resort in Ontario! There are 40 trails accommodated by 14 lifts all with varying degrees of difficulty. While Blue Mountain is a little pricier than the rest at $70 a pass it is well worth the money with so many trails to traverse. The mountain also has a high capacity so more skiers can go at once which keeps the wait times short and the good times high.
Going skiing is a lot of fun especially surrounded by friends and family, that’s why we recommend either a Dodge Grande Caravan or a Ford F250. They both offer lots of room for the passengers as well as lots of cargo space for all your gear.
