At just under two hours from Toronto, the Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake are low hanging fruit. The Falls can be seen from the road itself, and if you roll your window down you’ll feel the spray on your face. Niagara-on-the-Lake is just nice country and drive around the vineyards.

Algonquin Provincial Park

“Hey, isn’t that closed?!” we hear you say. And sure enough Algonquin Provincial Park is temporarily ‘closed’ while the emergency in Ontario continues, but here’s a top tip: Highway 60 runs through the park and is open. Sure, you can’t stop and hike in the park, but that doesn’t have to stop you from driving on beautiful roads and enjoy a greenery overload.

Road trip to the Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands is a group of a lot of islands. Straddling the US and the Canada border, there’s a lot to see here. Just because you won’t be boating doesn’t mean you have to miss out. The Thousand Island Parkway offers some incredible driving and views. What’s more, if they ferry is running, you can even hop on and off Howe Island.
